My name is Silva (Seren) and I am an artist and former primary school teacher. My passion for art began at a young age when I would fill reams of scrap paper with drawings. This love for art led me to be accepted into a Special Arts School, where I honed my skills and developed my own unique style.
Although I was passionate about art, I decided to become a teacher as I was not in a position to work full-time on my art when I graduated. However, this did not stop me from pursuing my passion for art. I completed four University degrees whilst working as a teacher and continued to work on my art in my spare time.
Throughout my long and enjoyable career as a primary school teacher, I never lost my passion for art. I have been able to combine my love of teaching with my love of art and have also become a published author.
Now that I am retired, I am able to fully immerse myself in my passion for art. I combine my love of art with my love of photography, gaming and creating 3D worlds. My favourite technique is pointillism, which I fell in love with as a child when I first saw works by Seurat. I also enjoy using other media such as pencil, ink and watercolour, with the occasional venture into acrylics.
I have exhibited my artwork at the Sydney Art Show as part of the ‘Colour In your Life’ TV Show group of artists. My artwork is distributed in many parts of the world and I am continuously working to improve my craft and reach new audiences. I am happy to share my passion for art with the world and inspire others to pursue their own passions.
